CHARMAINE like Charme

Writer's picture: Mohamed HamidaMohamed Hamida

For three long years, I was unable to paint my beloved dots due to serious eye problems. Now, as my treatment nears completion and the cause of my vision issues is finally under control, I am filled with joy at the prospect of returning to my passion. My first attempt after this hiatus unfortunately ended up in the wastebasket; I had accidentally knocked over the black ink pot, causing ink to spill across the paper. It was disappointing, but perhaps it was the painting's destiny. My next attempt promises to be one of my masterpieces.

Like many of my works, it will celebrate the beauty and allure of women. As I sat there, immersed in my creative process, the radio played the enchanting 1950s orchestral piece "Charmaine." In that moment, my Muse whispered that this would be the title of my painting. And what my Muse decrees, I shall undoubtedly follow!
