I'm in Tunisia for the month of April !

Stepping out of the airplane in Tunis, I was greeted by a rush of familiar scents and sounds, instantly grounding me in the essence of Tunisia. The warm breeze carried me back to my childhood, a comforting embrace that whispered tales of home.

The landscape unfolded before me at the outskirts of Tunis, familiar yet ever so enchanting. What was so special this year in April ? A lot of rain had fallen on the sometimes barren soil.

A landscape of rolling green hills and fields on my way out of the city - even beneath the ancient olive trees, nature had woven a tapestry of lush greenery - extending as far as the eye could see. Tunis El Hadra - the green Tunisia - lived up to its name in every sense. Everywhere !

What a spring time ! Maybe I restart here in my studio with painting !

And there is Eid El Fitr, the Festival of Breaking the Fast, approaching. This is a celebration filled with joy, family gatherings, and vibrant festivities. It marks the end of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting observed by Muslims worldwide. Tunisians observe Eid El Fitr with great enthusiasm, starting the day with special prayers at mosques followed by feasting and exchanging heartfealt greetings with friends and family. Homes are adorned with colourful decorations, and delicious traditional dishes are prepared to share among loved ones. The spirit of generosity and kindness permeates throughout Tunisia during this auspicious occasion, making Eid a cherished time for all.
